Small Turkish barbershop in Amsterdam Slotervaart. In 1960, the CBS (‘Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek’), for the first time established the existence of a Turkish population in The Netherlands. At the time, it was a number of hundred Turkish inhabitants. In 1964, there were 4.300. Nowadays, Dutch citizens with Turkish roots form the largest immigrant population in the country.
